What is the difference between carpooling and a taxi?
A taxi is professional transport: the driver goes wherever you ask and charges a fare to make a profit.
In carpooling the driver makes their own trip and passengers share the fuel and toll costs with them. There is no profit and the driver doesn’t change their route on demand.
